We hope everyone has enjoyed the holidays. Families, food and some scheduled downtime is always welcome. We’re still looking for the elusive moisture, though.

I was watching a commercial the other day and saw that there was an ad for a new Joe Pickett series on Spectrum Originals. This is the well-established series by popular author C. J. Box. His other series is “Big Sky,” currently on network television. I have also noticed the series “Virgin River” by Robin Carr and “Longmire” by Craig Johnson on the tube. The point I am making is that these series all began as books that we carry at East Morgan County Library. Come and check them out.

Another thing that we carry here are television series, themselves. We have the older series, like “I love Lucy”, The Golden Girls and “M.A.S.H,” and there are newer series, like “Friends,” “Bones” and “Rizzoli and Isles.” Lastly, we have series that are still running, like “Yellowstone,” “NCIS” and “Blue Bloods.”

Story Time will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 10 a.m. and Friday, Dec. 31, at 10:15 a.m.

Kids Fun Time will occur on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 3:15 p.m. We will be making tissue paper winter scenes.

Remember, we close at 1 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021, and are closed on Saturday, Jan. 1, 2022.

We will reopen on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, for regular hours.

If you come into the library and do not find what you are looking for, ask the staff at the front desk to try and order it for you. We have a slick, new sharing system called Prospector, and it is quick.

With supply lines slow, it has been very difficult to get large print books. Reordering older books is almost impossible, so please try and be patient. We will keep trying, and hopefully supplies of items will loosen up in 2022.

Finally, I have two Christmas-themed books summaries for you.

The first one is the new Debbie Macomber book, “Dear Santa.” We have this book in regular print, large print, and e-Book.

Feeling low after her boyfriend cheated on her, Lindy Carmichael heads home to Wenatchee, Washington, for Christmas, where her mother encourages her to write a grown-up letter to Santa, which ultimately brings her hope and joy.

The next book is an oldie, but a goodie. It is, “A Dog Named Christmas,” by Greg Kincaid. At EMCLD, it is in regular and large print, audio and DVD.

Discovering that a local shelter is looking for temporary homes for their dogs over the Christmas holidays, Todd, a developmentally challenged young man, persuades his reluctant family to take in a special canine named Christmas, who teaches an entire community a lesson in the transforming power of love and goodwill.

Be safe for the New Year’s celebrations. We’ll see you in 2022.
