It's been a little more than a year since the launch of Windows 11, but Microsoft has committed to supporting Windows 10 at least till October 2025. The first love for Microsoft will be Windows 11 of course, but Windows 10 still has a massive user base.

Therefore, the company will be backporting some Windows 11 features to Windows 10 over time. The latest of these Windows 11 features making the cut to Windows 10 22H2 is Universal Print.

Universal Print is a subscription-based modern printing solution that lets organizations use the Microsoft Azure cloud to manage their printing infrastructure. OEMs have been pushing out firmware updates for eligible printers and have also been introducing new Universal Print-compatible models.

With Universal Print support, Windows 10 users who upgrade to version 22H2 19044.1806 in the coming months will now be able to set a PIN to a print job. This is a welcome privacy and security feature in organizations that share a common printer and also helps keep a better tab on paper and toner consumption.

Enterprise users of Windows 10 will also be able to make use of the new Print Support App (PSA) feature. PSA allows IT to add features and specific print workflows without having to install any driver.

In addition to the new printing features, Windows 10 22H2 will also be getting Windows 11's improved Do Not Disturb or Focus Assist mode. Now, users will be able to receive important notifications even when Focus Assist is turned on. Recently, Microsoft also confirmed that Windows 11's DirectStorage feature is also available on Windows 10.

Windows 10 22H2 is now available for download in the Windows Insider Release Preview channel and will roll out to the general public in the coming months.
