WNY Book Arts Center hosts 2022 PRINTING PARTNERS sessions Submitted Tue, Jun 14th 2022 11:30 am WNY Book Arts Center (Book Arts) will launch the 2022 PRINTING PARTNERS sessions in conjunction with community partner Carnegie Art Center. This program offers free, sequential art classes to children and families in their own neighborhoods, and as always it is free to participate in. Open to ages 8-plus, students will learn the art of origami, printmaking, as well as an array of bookmaking techniques with resident teaching artist Ruby Meritt. Carnegie Art Center PRINTING PARTNERS sessions will run for eight weeks, in person, from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Fridays, July 8 through Aug. 26. Those interested in participating can visit www.wnybookarts.org/printing-partners to register. Registration is free and open to the public, and all specialty artmaking tools and materials will be provided. However, preregistration is required in order to participate. PRINTING PARTNERS is Book Arts’ educational outreach program hosted by community partners and dedicated to removing the barrier of cost and transportation in order to afford all families the opportunity to participate in high-quality arts learning. In this hands-on program, learners of all ages and abilities engage with the book arts to build their creative confidence and artistic skills. PRINTING PARTNERS is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, and the New York State Council on the Arts, with the support of Gov. Kathy Hochul and the New York State Legislature. PRINTING PARTNERS is also supported by The County of Erie, The Children’s Foundation of Erie County, M&T Bank, The Cameron & Jane Baird Foundation, The Vogt Family Foundation, the Margaret L. Wendt Foundation, and the Golden & Goldman Philanthropic Fund. The Western New York Book Arts Center is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of printing and book-related arts through education, creation, and exhibition for a broad and diverse community.
