What Happened at Estes Valley Library-Estes Park Trail-Bulletin

Monday to Thursday, 10 am to 8 pm

Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm

The library is open, with full access to collections, study rooms, meeting spaces and maker spaces. Computer access and printing services are provided on the second floor. Free Wi-Fi is available inside and outside the library. According to the current Larimer County health requirements, a mask is required.

The library will be closed on December 24th and 25th and January 1st. The library will close at 3 pm on Friday, December 31st.

The library’s website offers crafts and take-home kits, as well as holiday books and movies, and links to special events this season. Families can read the local English or Spanish "The Polar Express" on the library’s YouTube channel. Collections offers thousands of holiday-themed books, novels, recipes, music, and movies, both in physical and digital formats.

Saturday, December 11, 3 to 4 pm, Hondius Conference Room

Participants can participate in board games and Wii video games, as well as the library’s new virtual reality Oculus 2. Especially suitable for children from 6 to 17 years old, but all ages are welcome. Register on estesvalleylibrary.org.

Pajamas story time and plush toys overnight

Thursday, December 16, 6 pm to 6:30 pm, children’s room

Especially for children from 0 to 6 years old and their families. Enjoy the stories, songs, rhythms and movements to learn and end the day. Leave your favorite stuffed animal toy for the next day, and attach a souvenir photo of the animal overnight. No registration required.

From Wednesday, January 19 (choose morning or afternoon track)

This six-week series explores the life and works of Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev (1891-1953), one of the most prolific and interesting figures in the music industry of the 20th century. Led by lecturer Dr. Derald DeYoung. No previous music experience is required. Register at estesvalleylibrary.org.

"The Mountain is Singing": Books are available

The title of the book in 2022 is "Song of the Mountains" by Dr. Nguyen Phan Que Mai, chosen by readers of Estes Valley. A photocopy can be provided when checking out. Other formats include digital e-books and e-audiobooks. Planning and discussion will take place in January, including a virtual presentation by the author at 6 pm on Saturday, January 29

Cliffhanger Used Books is located next to the post office and is operated by the Library Friends & Foundation, providing light-weight books, movies and music at discounted prices. Business hours are from 10 am to 4 pm daily. During December, Colorado-themed books were sold for $2 in hardback and $1 in paperback with tax.
